Art Deco and Vintage Cut Gemstones
Before modern precision cutting, gemstones were shaped by hand, and it shows in the best way. This collection gathers our stones with that older character: 1930s rose cut Ceylon sapphires, with a flat base and a low dome of facets that glows softly rather than flashes; a pair of 1930s bullet cut Ceylon orange sapphires; a pair of tapered baguettes from the same era; and antique unheated Ceylon yellow sapphires from an estate collection.
All are natural, earth-mined stones, and every listing states the weight, measurements and treatment. The 1930s sapphires have standard heat; the antique Ceylon yellow sapphires are unheated. Rose cuts sit low, which suits Art Deco and vintage-style engagement rings and flush settings, while bullets and baguettes make elegant side stones or earrings.
Old cuts are best judged in motion, so ask us for a daylight video of any stone. Every order ships free worldwide from Toronto, gift-wrapped free with a handwritten card, with 30-day returns (orders placed Nov 1 to Dec 31 can be returned until Jan 31).
