Looking for a real emerald with presence? This is a natural Zambian emerald of 2.51 carats in the classic emerald cut, in a lively bluish green, the cool tone Zambian emerald is known for. It comes with a GS Laboratories appraisal certificate (Certificate of Evaluation, 2019) describing it as a natural emerald. It has minor oil only, the lightest level of the standard emerald treatment. At 8.19 × 7.42 mm, it's a confident size for an emerald engagement ring, or for a men's signet or bezel ring that wants a strong green stone.
- Natural. Bluish green. Appraised. Made to be remembered.
- Natural Zambian emerald, 2.51 ct, classic emerald cut

What "minor oil" means
Almost all emeralds are oiled to soften the look of natural inclusions. It's the standard, accepted treatment in the trade. Minor oil is the lightest level, so what you see is close to the stone's natural state.
About the appraisal certificate
This is an appraisal certificate (Certificate of Evaluation) signed by a GIA Graduate Gemologist, not a full gemological lab report. It is shown in the photos so you can read exactly what it says.
Why Zambia
Zambia is one of the world's leading sources of fine emerald, known for deep green colour with a slightly bluish tone.
For the engagement ring buyer
- Over 2.5 carats, a statement centre stone
- The emerald cut shows off colour with long, elegant step facets
- Beautiful in a solitaire, a diamond halo or a three-stone ring
- Emerald is a little softer than sapphire, so a protective setting such as a bezel or prongs with cut corners is a good choice for everyday wear
A gemstone for him: the men's signet ring
At Roho Jewels, we believe men deserve beautiful gemstones too. A natural Zambian emerald set into a signet ring is a bold, personal alternative to a plain metal signet: one-of-a-kind, full of character, and a ring he'll wear for decades and one day pass down.
- Signet face: at 8.19 × 7.42 mm, this stone suits a signet face of about 12–15 mm (most men choose a face of about 15–18 mm), great on the ring or middle finger
- Setting: flush (gypsy), bezel or half-bezel keeps it low and smooth, with no claws to catch on sleeves or gloves
- Depth: the stone is about 5 mm deep, so ask your jeweler for a signet head at least 6 mm deep
- Metal: rich in yellow gold, sharp in white gold or platinum, rugged in oxidised sterling silver
- Wear: Mohs 7.5–8. A flush or bezel setting protects the edges, making it ideal for a dress signet or careful everyday wear
- Worn for: every day, or to mark a wedding, a graduation or a milestone birthday
Birthstone meaning
Emerald is the birthstone for May and the traditional gemstone for 20th and 35th wedding anniversaries, long a symbol of love, renewal and loyalty.
