Looking for sapphires with depth rather than sparkle? These are two natural Madagascar sapphires cut as high dome oval cabochons, closely matched at 2.98 ct and 2.96 ct. A cabochon doesn't chase brilliance. Its smooth dome draws light inside the stone, so the deep ocean blue seems to glow from within. They're made for a pair of bezel earrings, twin-stone rings, matching pendants or his-and-hers designs.
The polished dome works like a lens, pulling light into the body of the stone and holding it there. The colour shifts between deep navy and brighter blue as the stones tilt, and looks even and rich in soft light.
The fine silk you can see in these stones is made of tiny natural needles that formed as the crystals grew. In a cabochon, a little silk is what gives the soft, velvety glow. These stones have enough to glow while staying clear enough for the blue to read rich rather than opaque.
Sapphire is the birthstone for September and the traditional gemstone for 5th and 45th wedding anniversaries, long a symbol of loyalty, wisdom and sincerity.
A pair of bezel earrings for everyday wear, twin-stone rings, matching pendants, or a jewelry designer's matched set. And a natural choice if September is your birth month or you're marking a 5th or 45th anniversary.
At Roho Jewels, everything begins with the stone. Every natural gemstone we offer is hand-selected in our Toronto studio. These are real, earth-mined sapphires, rubies and emeralds, and genuine pearls, never synthetics, and every stone is described honestly so you know exactly what you're buying. Our goal is simple: real gemstones, real craftsmanship and real value, without traditional retail prices.

I absolutely love this 1930s sapphire rose cut from Roho Jewels! The sapphire is even more lovely than I imagined, and I can’t wait to make something with it. Leander was super prompt and communicative, responding to any questions that I had quickly and shipping the stone out right after I purchased it. I can’t recommend his shop enough - thank you so much, Leander!
I bought these emerald earrings for my daughter, and we absolutely love them. They are beautiful, excellent quality, and exactly as pictured. They arrived on time and exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend this shop.
